Board Meetings

Minutes of all Board Meetings can be found under Documents > Board. Orienteering USA members are always welcome at Board Meetings.

Board Meetings scheduled for 2013:

• January 19, Rutledge, GA, Georgia Navigator Cup (GAOC)
• Friday, May 10, Lake George, NY, U.S. Individual Champs/Adirondack Adventures (EMPO)
  • 6-8 pm, at the Surfside Inn (meet hotel), 400 Canada Street, Lake George
• July 27, Lake Tahoe, NV/CA, Summer O Festival, includes AGM (BAOC)
• October 5, Portageville, NY, U.S. Classic Champs (ROC)

Mission statement

Orienteering USA's mission is to:

1. Increase participation in the sport.
2. Teach map reading and navigation skills.
3. Promote enjoyment of, and respect for, the environment.
4. Establish world-class competitive excellence within our national team programs.

Orienteering USA is a volunteer-run organization. Our Board of Directors, committees and task forces are made up of Orienteering USA members offering their time, energy, and expertise to promote the sport of orienteering and make Orienteering USA function as effectively as possible. We encourage motivated members to join us!

Position Descriptions:

The Position Descriptions and General Responsibilities give a general overview of what potential candidates frequently ask about Board Positions.

For all Board Positions, candidates must be a member of Orienteering USA for at least one year.

The desired personal traits/skills and suggested education and experience sections are listed only as helpful suggestions. All of these items should not be construed as being necessary requirements for a candidate to possess.
